All about pink ink

I adore the Delightful Dahlia additions stamp from PTI July release. And I can't wait to start creating something like this:

However, problem arises as I don't have a matching pink ink. I owned a few different brand of ink pad: Rangers distress ink, Memento, Versafine, a few Hero Arts shadow ink. But none really offer pink colour from the same shade. The dahlia stamp comes in 3 layers so the best is to have 3 different pink ink (from light to dark). But I only can find Memento Rose Bud and Angel Pink.

So at the end, I bought a few of the ink cube from PTI as well. I like that PTI offers a few pink ink in different shades so I decided to give it a try.

To compare the existing pink ink I have, and the new PTI ink I got, I made a chart with my collection of pink ink and the new PTI pink ink. Since I'm not comparing the ink quality I didn't stamp with good pressure so some sample appears splotchy.

Top row (from left to right): Memento Rose bud, Memento Angel Pink, Versa Magic Pixie dust, Hero Arts Soft Blossom.
2nd row: Rangers distress ink: Pickled Raspberry, Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar.
3rd row: PTI: Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Autumn Rose, Scarlet Jewel

As you can see, even Rose Bud, Pickled Raspberry and Raspberry Fizz are quite similar, they are still a touch different. The Pixel dust and Tattered Rose are quite similar, though. Even so, distress ink behaves very different from Pigment ink and I don't think I can interchange them freely.

From what I see, if I were to substitute Raspberry Fizz I may want Memento Rose Bud; Sweet Blush with Memento Angel Pink. However, I don't see a good substitute of Hibiscus Burst in my existing collection of pink ink. I like the package of Memento dew drop with the same colour family (pack of 4 blue, green or purple), but why not pink?

I will talk about my adventure with the Dahlia stamp and my new pink ink in the next post.
