Couple days ago I received a text message from my friend to invite me to her baptism. Although it's quite a surprise to me I'm still happy for her.
The next thing in mind is that I'm going to get a gift for her, and a gift is not complete without a card, right?
Picking the gift is not as challenging as I have something in mind. But creating a baptism card, turns out to be a challenge.
As I'm not religious, I don't really purchase stamps with religious element either. So it's a real challenge for me to find something that fit the theme of a baptism card. I look though my collection of rubber/cling/clear stamps and after like half an hour I finally find something. I am seriously in need of organizing my stuff! The sentiment is from a Christmas set. Thanks Lord that I do find something religious!
This is what I come up with. Hope it is good for a baptism card.

Materials:
Stamps: JustRite-Botanical Medallions & Banners, Stampin Up-Come to Bethlehem
Ink: Memento Tuxedo-London Fog, Heroarts-Mid-tone Charcoal (sentiment)
Others: pearl, gem stone, Cuttlebug folder - Kassie's Brocade.
Recently I purchased two different HA grey ink: mid-tone Charcoal and Soft Granite. Together with London Frog that I own, I was experimenting between those three for this card. I was thinking "shadow ink" (mid-tone charcoal) may not give crisp image so it is not good for stamping sentiment but I was wrong. It turns out great! However, the soft granite does not give me a crisp image for the frame. Therefore I stamp the frame with London Frog.

Petti I think this is a wonderful card for the occassion! It's elegant and it's beautiful, and I think the sentiment is perfect for it!
Petti it is a beautifulllll card! Absolutely elegant and just perfect!
You created a wonderful card for the occasion. Thanks for your ideas on gray inks too. Tip... you could PC generate a sentiment when you need one too.
Thank you for your compliment!
Thank you for the tip about PC generating sentiment. However with computer it's a bit tough for me to control the size (e.g. whether it will fit in the frame). And I'm not good at using photoshop or layout software. I guess it's just ashame that even I work with computer everyday at work I'm still not very good at going digital in card making!
well..you did great..is in these situations when your brain comes up with something amazing...congratulations on your "religious " card with no "religious " stamps :)
